International cooperation

Many health and environmental issues demand an international approach. That is why RIVM does not restrict its gaze to the Netherlands. We are active in looking for contacts abroad to increase the scope of our knowledge and to improve the quality of our research and consultancy activities.

Much of our international work takes place in a European context. However, we also work with UN agencies such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and with various institutes in the United States and other countries.

New strategy

Our international strategy was updated in 2012 in the framework of the development of a new future vision for RIVM. This new strategy, in which top priorities are laid down and key partners are named, will determine the direction of RIVM’s international work in 2013 and subsequent years.
